MMFX Technologies Corporation, headquartered in Irvine, California, was formed on June 22, 1998 to commercialize its proprietary, micro and nanotechnologies that enable the manipulation of the microstructures of materials to obtain optimum microstructural properties.
The current focus for MMFX?s core technology is uncoated steel that has a microstructure fundamentally different from conventional steel; in fact, this revolutionary technology has produced steel unlike any steel material ever introduced to the marketplace.
That same month, MMFX Steel Corporation of America, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MMFX Technologies Corporation, was formed to produce (under contract) and sell rebar and other reinforcing products made from MMFX steels.
The origins of MMFX?s proprietary technology were developed at the University of California-Berkeley under the guidance of world-renowned scientist and inventor, Professor Gareth Thomas. Professor Thomas founded the National Center for Electron Microscopy at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, one of the finest facilities of its type in the world. In this laboratory, and with millions of dollars in government funding, he made fundamental advances in steel technology. MMFX currently uses its proprietary technology to produce state-of-the-art, high-strength, corrosion-resistant steel at competitive prices.
Since the steel's initial development, MMFX has made significant advancements in the creation of strong, tough, and corrosion-resistant steels. These breakthrough advancements have led to numerous patented and patent-pending commercially produced new-generation steel products.
